Job posting– Planner II - Production
While reporting to the Administrative Manager, the position schedules orders and plans production jobs for the assigned equipment. The position is responsible to schedule jobs to minimize changeover and downtime, to include routine preventive maintenance, and to meet customer demands.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Developing production schedules to meet finished goods requirements while minimizing changeovers, downtime, and inventory.

Scheduling freight for finished good shipments to customers.

Planning, scheduling, and procuring materials for manufacturing of product. Reviewing production schedules for changes. Expediting supplier deliveries as required. Generating production work orders as needed.

Work with production, shipping, and other staff to maintain minimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Assist in determination of material obsolescence and in purging obsolete inventory from the system. Utilize data to monitor and report performance by machine, by department, or by shift. Provide suggestions on methods to reduce negative variances.

Support the development, application, production trials, and introduction of new materials and processes. Work with suppliers and internal departments to achieve this objective.

Work with plant management and customers to quickly resolve customer quality and service issues.

Determine inventory management strategies, including safety stock to minimize material expenditures and obsolescence exposure.

Work with Division Sales team on prioritization of customer orders.

Utilize systems to streamline ERP & Planning processes and maintain data to ensure accurate reporting.

Work with Administrative Manager on projects related to planning automation & improvement.
We’d love to hear from you if:

You have Oracle and APS experience. This is not required, but highly preferred.

You have at least three years production scheduling experience preferred.

You have advanced excel skills, such as, lookups and pivot tables as this will prove useful.

You have a background in process improvement as this is a plus.
