Job Overview
The Superintendent Civil role requires an in-depth understanding of project execution strategies, workforce management theories, and Civil principles, with a basic knowledge of related disciplines. The Superintendent Civil must be able to apply industry insights to enhance on-site productivity, provide leadership, and influence processes and policies for effective workforce governance, as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact project outcomes. The Superintendent Civil’s decisions are pivotal in ensuring that the team meets its objectives with efficiency and adherence to safety standards. These decisions should be guided by established policies, resource allocations, budget considerations, and the overarching project plan.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Project field supervision of civil onsite labor civil crafts, subcontractors, field staff, and overall budget performance as well as management of the overall site
- Perform other duties as required ensuring work is being performed efficiently in accordance with design drawings & specifications and relevant codes
- Assist the construction manager in all issues pertaining to all site-related activities, as directed
- Supervise construction effort to ensure the project is constructed and/or maintained in accordance with design, budget, and schedule-includes interfacing with client representatives Coordinates the civil work activities of all involved crafts within the civil discipline during the entire construction effort, if required
- Study specifications to plan construction procedures based on starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction, based on knowledge of available tools and equipment and various building methods
- Prepare, or receive from subordinates, reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports
- Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
- Identify labor requirements
- Develop strong civil team
- Ensure that subordinates are knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures
- Plan required work activities to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, and materials are available
- Perform work in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates
- Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
