University degree in Computer Science or relevant studies in a related field.

Experience managing Linux-based systems in a research or academic environment

Relevant experience in the areas of HP high performance computing systems hardware, GPU systems, and InfiniBand switches.

Knowledge of the following technologies: Linux HPC, Slurm, Parallel cluster file system, HP high performance computing hardware compute and storage nodes.

Willing to work in data center on physical servers, storage, rack and stack, cabling and labeling.

Monitor, manage and prepare plan for power/cooling requirements of data center scientific computing hardware.

Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies.

High level of responsibility, initiative and ability to work in a team.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail of data center operation. Strong communications skills and collaborative approach.
The DZNE operates a central IT located in Bonn, which provides the central network, server and storage infrastructure, and services for the entire research center distributed across 10 sites, supporting the work of scientists and administration. We operate a virtualization infrastructure, with Linux and Windows servers.
