Job description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester (m/f/d) to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our checkout and payment solutions by performing thorough manual testing across web, mobile, and API layers. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to identify issues early and help deliver smooth, bug-free experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write, and execute detailed manual test cases and test scenarios for new features and existing functionality.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like Jira or similar.
- Collaborate with the development team to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
- Contribute to test planning and estimation for sprints/releases.
- Test across different browsers, devices, and environments (desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Validate checkout flows, payment integrations, security aspects, and edge cases.
- Help maintain and improve the overall QA process and documentation.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in manual software testing
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies (e.g., ISTQB knowledge is a plus)
- Experience testing web applications, mobile apps (iOS/Android), and APIs (Postman or similar)
- Familiarity with checkout/payment systems or e-commerce is a strong advantage
- Good knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools
- Ability to write clear, structured test documentation
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)

- Knowledge of performance or security testing basics
- Experience in fintech or high-transaction environments
- Automation testing exposure (even if the role is primarily manual)
