The School of Economics and Business Administration comprises a total of 17 professorships, including 10 in business administration, three in economics, and two each in business informatics and law. The faculty’s disciplinary diversity facilitates intensive exchange and networking both within the field of economics and at the interdisciplinary interfaces with the technical faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the faculties of Mathematics, Computer Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Philosophy at Chemnitz University of Technology.
We are seeking a candidate who can broadly and effectively represent the field in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer—both within the context of business administration and, in particular, at technology-oriented interfaces. In addition to developing and disseminating methodological approaches to management accounting, research and teaching should focus specifically on the connection to digital technologies, sustainability aspects, and the innovation potential of disruptive technologies. Experience in securing external funding, particularly in technology-related consortia, is especially welcome to further develop the faculty’s strong presence at the interface with other, mostly technical, faculties. The target audience for teaching consists of students in bachelor’s and master’s programs, primarily in economics, industrial engineering, accounting and corporate management, value chain management, and business informatics. The courses, offered in both German and English, should be oriented toward research-based learning.
We are looking for someone with
- practice and experience in research (ability and willingness to raise third-party funding, strong publication and lecture track record, advancement of young academics),
- practice and experience in teaching (in particular the ability and willingness to teach courses in German and English),
- practice and experience in knowledge exchange, and
- a willingness to assume responsibilities in academic self-administration.
We would also welcome
- international practice and experience in teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange,
- special proof of qualification in teaching,
- the ability and willingness to embrace new forms of teaching and learning,
- the ability and willingness to participate in delivering continuing education, and
- the ability and willingness to engage in public relations work.
