About the role
Hugo's is a Dutch-French bakery and wine bar opening at Potsdamer Platz this summer. By day we serve fresh pastries, bagels, quiche and sandwiches to a mix of local office workers and international visitors. From early evening we become a relaxed wine bar with a focused natural wine list and honest small plates.
Hugo's is the official start and end point for Doggy Bag Tours and Baja Bikes, two established Berlin tour companies with around 45,000 international guests a year. From day one we have a steady, reliable flow of people walking through the door.
We are building our team from scratch. This is a real opportunity to shape how the kitchen runs, with input into the setup, the workflow and the food from the very beginning. We are a small, close team and we want someone who genuinely cares about what lands on the plate.
Requirements
Professional kitchen experience required
Organised and reliable
Creative, with a real passion for food and quality ingredients
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during lunch and evening service
Responsibilities
Lunch prep: sandwiches, quiche, salads and soups, prepared fresh daily
Wine bar snacks: boards, small plates and simple food done well
Maintaining kitchen organisation, cleanliness and food safety standards
Contributing to the kitchen setup and structure from day one
Working closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
