he DG Specialist ensures that all hazardous materials and dangerous goods are properly received, stored, packed, labeled, documented, and transported according to safety standards and regulatory requirements such as IATA, IMDG, ADR, OSHA, or local laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify dangerous goods shipments and documentation
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and marking of hazardous materials
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company SOPs
- Conduct warehouse safety checks and DG audits
- Coordinate with logistics, transport, and customs teams
- Monitor storage conditions for hazardous products
- Prepare DG declarations and shipping paperwork
- Train warehouse staff on hazardous material handling procedures
- Investigate incidents, spills, or non-compliance issues
- Maintain records of DG inventory and regulatory certifications
- Ensure emergency response procedures are followed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations (IATA/IMDG/ADR)
- Experience in warehouse or logistics operations
- Attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to interpret safety data sheets (SDS/MSDS)
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Familiarity with inventory and warehouse management systems
- Problem-solving and risk assessment skills
Preferred Qualifications
- DG Certification (IATA DGR certified preferred)
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field
- 2–5 years of warehouse or hazardous materials experience
- Forklift certification may be preferred
