As a Working Student in Business Intelligence at Abacus Medicine, you will help us strengthen and maintain the technical foundation behind our data platform.
A key part of the role is supporting internal improvement and maintenance activities that are important for keeping our BI environment structured, documented, and scalable. This includes improving and maintaining metadata, documenting how data is defined and used across the organization, validating reports, and helping us simplify and consolidate existing BI assets.
Alongside this, you will get the opportunity to work with more future-oriented BI and AI topics. You will be based in Berlin and work closely with experienced BI colleagues, contributing to experiments, testing new ideas and helping us explore how AI can become a useful part of analytics.
Strengthening our BI foundation
Help maintain and improve metadata in Unity Catalog, including table and column descriptions, business definitions, and ownership information.
Support documentation of the semantic layer between Databricks and Power BI, helping us keep definitions and reporting logic consistent.
Work with different business domains to understand and document what our data actually means as part of our ongoing Goldification efforts.
Support DAX development and validation of important Power BI reports, preparing proposed changes for review by experienced BI developers.
Help identify opportunities to simplify reports, models, and workspaces to improve maintainability and platform performance.
Supporting our future BI & AI capabilities
Help maintain and test internal documentation, onboarding material, and guidance for our BI and AI tooling.
Support our work with AI-enabled analytics tools such as Databricks Genie and Microsoft Copilot by testing how they interpret business questions and helping improve the underlying context and documentation.
Act as a hands-on sparring partner for new ideas and experiments, particularly together with our BI colleagues in Berlin.
Help turn successful experiments into approaches and documentation that can be reused by the wider team.
