As an Engineering Program Manager Intern for the Passive Safety Performance Team, you will support various safety engineering and testing activities to drive development and validation of component, sub-system and vehicle level safety for future product launches. You will work cross-functionally with many groups within the Tesla Vehicle Engineering Team to support safety targets, test plans, and resource allocation from initial design concepts to product launch to 5-star global safety ratings.

What You'll Do-
Manage test sample procurement, organization and global logistics for critical safety rating assessments.

Support the development of internal software tools to streamline test and safety performance tracking for homologation.

Design new ways to report and automate passive safety performance evaluations.

Collaborate on safety performance targets and testing timelines.

Strategize with our safety engineering experts to establish a roadmap that supports the launch of new vehicles or features from a safety critical path.

Develop close relationships with other Tesla Program Managers to drive continuous and efficient communication of passive safety timelines.

Recognize and flag potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict, initiate resolution and deliver results as efficiently as possible.

Continuously communicate with test managers (both internal and at external test suppliers) to maintain timelines in line with program requirements.
What You'll Bring-
Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related degree.

Systems level thinker with evidence of driving product design optimization across products, disciplines and teams.

A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.

Solid grasp on engineering fundamentals.

Ability to optimize and streamline processes using technology and logic.

Experience solving open-ended engineering problems.

Proven interest in Tesla's mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy, through extracurricular activities, academic projects, passion projects, or equivalent experiences

Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects with interconnected tasks in parallel, across teams, in a short timeframe, with ability to pivot rapidly

Experience with agile project management systems and methodologies (including JIRA project setup and execution) as well as scheduling and timeline software tools.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
