W2 professorship (m/f/d) for Design, Construction,
and Extension

We are seeking an architect (m/f/d) with outstanding skills and proven practical experience in
design and construction. The professorship focuses on adaptive work within the existing built
environment and context-sensitive extension, understood as a conceptual and structural
engagement with the existing built fabric through contemporary and forward-looking
methods, technologies, and materials.
As the faculty is looking to expand its research activities, additional expertise in applied and
scientific research is expressly welcome. Practical experience in relevant fields that
contribute to the faculty’s further development will be given special consideration.
In addition, we are looking for:
- Sound scientific knowledge in the sought-after fields
- Outstanding scientific and teaching qualifications
- Several years of independent professional experience, gained nationally or
internationally, in the focus areas
- A well-defined research profile that facilitates both independent and collaborative
research projects
- Strong language skills in German and English
- Additional language skills in French and/or another foreign language are an advantage,
as is proof of international contacts and experience
Your profile
Within its integrated bachelor's and master's programs, the department teaches design strategies,
structural principles, and methodologies for working with existing buildings, preparing students to
address architectural and urban challenges with a reflective and contemporary approach.
In this context, you will primarily be responsible for:
- Teaching courses in the Architecture programs (bachelor’s and master’s)
- Active participation in teaching the basics
- Dedicated participation in furthering the faculty and the university
- Willingness to cooperate and work in an interdisciplinary manner across different fields of study
- Representing your subject area in teaching, research and academic development
- Offering courses in German and English
- On-site presence at the university in order to provide optimal support for students
