- Perform and interpret simulation studies for innovative semiconductor test solutions and semiconductor devices
- Analyze emerging semiconductor technologies, process trends, and device architectures, and assess their impact on future semiconductor IC test requirements and strategies.
- Evaluate technology-related challenges such as process variations, defect categories, packaging issues, transistor behavior, thermal effects, and reliability mechanisms from both device and test application perspectives.
- Translate device-level findings into system-level implications, helping define test methodologies, characterization approaches, and future semiconductor IC test product directions.
- Support technology scouting, feasibility studies, and pathfinding activities in collaboration with customers, research institutes, foundries, and internal development teams.
- Act as a technical bridge between semiconductor technology, product definition, and test solution development, contributing to innovative prototype solutions on the Advantest V93000 platform.
Requirements:
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Technology, Microsystems Engineering, Computational Computer Science, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics, CMOS technologies, transistor operation, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor modeling and simulation tools such as SIMCENTER, TCAD, SPICE, ANSYS, or equivalent semiconductor and multiphysics simulation environments.
- Knowledge of advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, including chiplets, heterogeneous integration, advanced interconnects, and 2.5D/3D architectures.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor reliability topics, including aging effects, electromigration, self-heating, thermal cycling, package-induced stress, and failure mechanisms.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration abilities across diverse teams, cultures, and organizational levels
- Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required, German is preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally up to 20%.
