Privately owned, fiercely customer-focused, and driven by our values, we continue to lead industries and transform lives through sound.
Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation.
As an Audio Engineer in our Bose Automotive Germany team, you will design, integrate, tune, and validate in-vehicle audio systems that deliver signature sound.
The role spans architecture, component specification, DSP tuning, validation, and OEM collaboration from concept through launch, translating brand and customer targets into measurable performance and an engaging listening experience through both objective and subjective assessment. You will play a key role in envisioning, prototyping, and implementing solutions that improve experience delivery efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute in-vehicle and bench tuning, applying filters, crossovers, EQ, dynamics, bass management, and Bose algorithms as needed.
- Plan and perform objective and subjective validation to verify response, distortion, output, consistency, latency, and overall listening experience.
- Provides solutions towards better efficiency and more automation to deliver audio experiences with consistency, reliability and at scale.
- Escalation of technical risks, performance gaps, and acoustic issues requiring cross-functional support.
- Adjust tuning on site as needed to meet performance and timing targets under field conditions.
- Engineering recommendations for system architecture, tuning direction, and validation readiness on assigned programs.
- Define end-to-end audio system topology, electroacoustic targets, budgets, and key specifications.
- Specify speakers, enclosures, amplifiers, DSP, and acoustic interfaces in collaboration with engineering teams and suppliers.
- Partner with OEM body, interior, electrical, and infotainment teams to optimize packaging, mounting, sealing, isolation, and system behavior.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for acoustic anomalies such as rattles, clipping, artifacts, and integration interactions.
- Support schedules, milestones, documentation, reviews, production audits, and launch readiness across development builds.
- Present technical content, align trade-offs with stakeholders, and support builds, demonstrations, and customer approval activities.
- Prioritization of engineering actions needed to meet customer expectations, program timing, and launch goals.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Physics, or similar field with strong relation to sound
- Experience designing, integrating, measuring, and/or tuning multi-speaker audio systems with standard measurement and analysis workflows.
- Working knowledge of DSP, amplifier and system behavior, requirements definition, test planning, and data-driven troubleshooting.
- Strong written and spoken English, plus willingness to travel and work hands-on with vehicles, instrumentation, and prototype or production hardware.
- Preferred Experience - Advanced degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or Signal Processing; automotive program experience; familiarity with automotive networks, spatial audio concepts, scripting/automation, and global cross-functional collaboration.
- Musical background preferred.
