Electrical Power Subsystem Engineer (m/f/d)
As Electrical Power Subsystem Engineer, you will take technical ownership of the EPS for satellite projects, from early design through to in-orbit commissioning. You will define, design, and optimize power architectures, ensuring reliable generation, storage, and distribution across the spacecraft. You will perform sizing and trade-offs for key elements such as solar arrays, batteries, and power conditioning & distribution units, translating system requirements into robust subsystem solutions. Working closely with system engineering, project teams, customers, and subcontractors, you will drive interface definition, design alignment, and technical decision-making. You will lead EPS-related reviews, contribute to system-level design activities, and manage subsystem documentation and verification. In addition, you will support proposal activities, assess subcontractor solutions, and contribute to testing and validation to ensure flight-ready performance.
Your Tasks
- Take technical responsibility for the Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) across all project phases — from pre-development to in-orbit commissioning

Act as EPS design authority towards customers and subcontractors

Design, size, and optimize satellite power subsystems (solar arrays, batteries, PCDU, SADM), including trade-off analyses

Assess and evaluate EPS concepts during feasibility and pre-development studies

Analyze system requirements and derive subsystem-level requirements

Define and maintain specifications for EPS units and equipment

Support Phase B/C/D proposal activities, including evaluation of subcontractor solutions

Produce and maintain EPS design, analysis, and verification documentation

Lead EPS-related design reviews and contribute to system and subsystem reviews

Collaborate with project teams, system engineering, and other disciplines

Define and support verification and testing activities, including on-site test support
Your Qualifications

Degree in electrical or aerospace engineering (or comparable qualification)

Experience in satellite Electrical Power Systems (Phase B/C/D) or in electrical power equipment development is a plus

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and subcontractors

Structured, proactive, and able to work both independently and within cross-functional teams

Comfortable working in large, multidisciplinary projects
