Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Technician to support engineering development for Cell Manufacturing, including equipment development, installation, and commissioning. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to address challenging automation equipment issues and installations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in industrial automation machinery, especially with PLC or DCS control systems using a fieldbus technology; knowledge of Profinet or EtherCAT is preferred. The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Tesla's projects are highly dynamic, as the company continuously adjusts priorities to improve productivity and efficiency.
What You'll Do-
Install line-side equipment, including instrumentation and automation control systems.

Construct DIN EN 61439 compliant control panels and perform retrofits to existing panels, by following electrical drawings prints and using supplier information.

Collaborate and provide feedback with relevant teams to determine appropriate equipment, instrument locations, and compliant cabling methods.

Verify automation equipment is safely installed and energized, and that it meets the project specifications and standards.

Perform initial electrical safety inspection testing (Erstprüfung) in accordance with DGUV v3.

Troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues, using knowledge of control systems and proficiently reading electrical schematics.

Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks, such as bolting brackets and covers, and using basic hand tools.

Tasks may require work in hazardous materials environment using mandated PPE.
What You'll Bring-
Completed 3-year vocational training as (electronics technician for industrial systems, mechatronics technician or similar) or comparable qualification

Familiarity with 400V power distribution panels, digital/analog I/O, and safety circuit systems.

Experience with wiring methods, terminations, and networking within industrial/manufacturing environments.

Experience with building code compliant industrial machinery, including raceway methods.

Experience in manufacturing or other industrial spaces.

Solid written communication skills and a willingness to document.

Good German and English skills, both spoken and written.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.

5+ years of experience working in an industrial automation or technical organization.
