Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We're looking for a Data Analyst (Associate) for our EU AG Data Office – Data Management team to join our team!
Join a growing Data Analytics function at the heart of SMBC's data transformation journey. This is an exciting opportunity to turn complex data into meaningful insights, influence decision-making across the bank, and help shape innovative analytics capabilities from the ground up.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Developing analytics solutions, dashboards and reports that deliver actionable business insights.
Preparing, transforming and analysing data to support strategic projects and business initiatives.
Supporting the adoption of self-service analytics and promoting best practices across the organisation.
For you to succeed in the role, you'll need to have:
Strong experience with Power BI and/or Tableau, including dashboard development and data visualisation.
Proficiency in SQL and data preparation techniques to support analytics solutions.
Experience working with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical insights and recommendations.

About this role:
As a Data Analyst within the EU AG Data Office, you will support the development of analytics capabilities that drive data-led decision making across SMBC EMEA. You will help business teams unlock value from their data by delivering meaningful insights, supporting strategic initiatives, and advancing the bank's data transformation agenda.
You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including business teams, data analysts, data engineers, product managers, and senior management across the organisation.
Our role will enable you to:
Prepare, cleanse and transform data for analytical use.
Build and maintain dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
Deliver insights that support business decision-making and strategic objectives.
Support the development and testing of new analytics products and proof-of-concepts.
Promote analytics best practices, standards and governance across the organisation.
Contribute to the rollout and adoption of self-service analytics capabilities.
Collaborate with data professionals and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
Support the implementation of the EMEA Data Analytics Framework and wider Data Strategy.
What will you bring to the role?
Experience developing dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI and/or Tableau.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured and unstructured data.
Knowledge of data preparation and transformation tools such as Alteryx or equivalent solutions.
Understanding of analytics development lifecycles, testing methodologies and version control practices.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business value through data.
Ability to manage priorities independently in a dynamic environment.
Experience within financial services and knowledge of data-related regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
Familiarity with Python, automation, AI, cloud technologies, or advanced analytics techniques would be beneficial.
