Intu Diagnostics is building an instrument-free molecular diagnostic platform, making lab-quality testing accessible anywhere, from at-home use to underserved populations worldwide. We're a Fraunhofer IZI spin-off based in Leipzig, working at the intersection of molecular biology, microfluidics, and device engineering.
What you'll work on: You'll support the microfluidic chip and cartridge integration work for our diagnostic platform helping take designs from concept through benchtop testing to functional prototypes, working alongside our CTO and external design/manufacturing partners.
Skills we're looking for:
· Some hands-on experience with microfluidic chip design or testing (capillary flow, chamber design, fluid actuation) through coursework, thesis work, or a previous role
· Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, hot embossing, or similar)
· Basic CAD skills and willingness to learn/iterate on designs
· Interest in how biological/chemical processes integrate into a device (e.g. reagent storage, heating/activation, sample handling)
· Background in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, microsystems engineering, or related field
Nice to have:
· Experience with point-of-care or IVD device development
· Exposure to thermal management or materials testing
What we offer:
· Hands-on experience on a core technical workstream for a product heading toward CE/FDA submission
· Direct collaboration with our CTO, Fraunhofer IZI, and external design/manufacturing partners
· A role where you'll grow quickly and see your work directly shape the product
· Competitive compensation for a pre-seed/seed-stage biotech
