WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Tech Delivery experts within Bain´s [2] Enterprise Technology team. In this multidisciplinary group, you’ll help clients drive their biggest and most complex business-led digital/technology transformations, modernizing end-to-end technology, architecture, systems and data, while integrating AI.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Mission
- Support the day-to-day implementation of technology transformation projects, focusing primarily on the delivery and operationalization of strategic initiatives to achieve significant outcomes and impact
- Ensure alignment between technology strategy and implementation, orchestrating client and third-party teams
- Help lead cross-functional teams in implementing project management strategies to achieve project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget
- Focus on delivery assurance to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of strategic recommendations, utilizing project management principles to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes
- Improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of clients’ business processes and operations in the context of large tech transformations
- Drive the implementation of large-scale transformation programs to ensure efficient and effective implementation of strategic recommendations that align with clients' goals and objectives
- Identify issues, create hypotheses, and execute analysis; translate data into meaningful insights; present recommendations to key decision makers
- Move the client to action; develop a plan to implement the strategic recommendations; manage the execution
- Coach and develop junior team members
Essential functions
- Participate in end-to-end technology and digital transformation projects, solving the most pressing needs of our clients
- Establish and implement PMO tools such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNow from inception, guiding the team through onboarding to ensure seamless project operations and efficiency
- Execute project management activities, ensuring adherence to established methodologies, processes, and standards within the PMO
- Help oversee the preparation and refinement of project deliverables, including comprehensive reports, workshop materials, and compelling business proposals, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations
- Drive continuous improvement of the project management process to enhance project delivery efficiency, effectiveness, and quality
- Support in managing and coaching teams to research and understand the client organization and industry; interview, conduct focus groups, and facilitate workshops with client employees, management teams, and other stakeholders
- Identify and capitalize on value creation opportunities in each client situation, ensuring that strategic initiatives translate into measurable business impact
- Organize the work of the team by allocating clear responsibilities among the case team members
- Manage and ensure execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses of business processes
- Prepare and finalize project deliverables, including reports, workshop materials, and business proposals
- Coordinate initiatives and oversee project management processes, standards, and governance to ensure the project delivers value according to timeline and quality standards
ABOUT YOU
- 6+ years of experience in tech consulting, a start-up or other business environment
- Experience with project management for large tech transformations
- Experience collaborating with other vendor partners (e.g., IBM, Accenture)
- Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and facilitating workshops to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, Computer Science / Engineering, Information Management, or other tech-related fields
- Preferred: MBA, courses in digital/tech transformation
- Fluency in German and English
- Passionate about technology topics, including architecture, process excellence, cloud, delivery assurance, etc.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices in program management, process improvement, and risk management to deliver tangible results and value through project management expertise
- Experience in developing and managing client relationships, driving collaboration, and driving effective decision-making
- Adept at bridging software and systems expertise with business leadership requirements
- Experience using specific project management tools in large IT transformations, such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNow
- Ability to assist in preparing and presenting project deliverables to key decision-makers, articulating insights and recommendations clearly
- Familiarity with change management techniques to assist the client in sustaining changes to business operations
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, effective collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective management and working skills, fostering collaboration and ensuring the successful execution of project tasks and objectives
- Robust analytical skillset, with organized and deadline-driven ways of working
- Ability to multitask and be a team player
- Travel is required across DACH
