Your Role: Driving Innovation in Tandem Solar Cells
As a vital member of our dynamic and international R&D team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our high-efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell technology. Your expertise will not only help strengthen our technology leadership but also help drive innovations toward commercial-scale applications.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Innovation in Action: Analyse single-and multi-junction solar cells on our quest for reliable and stable tandem solar cells in our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Thalheim near Leipzig/Halle/Berlin.
- Driving Innovation: Develop new characterization methods as a basis for detailed understanding of performance and reliability of our Tandem solar cells and modules. Apply them together with our process specialists to identify failure modes and to facilitate development of methods to successfully suppress them.
- Innovation Implementation: Support our global production facilities in implementing new characterization methods. Your willingness to travel and intercultural competence will be key assets.
- Technology Trendsetter: Lead the development of innovative ideas and act as a driving force for creative solutions that align with our corporate vision and goals.
- Efficient Tool Owner: Ensure stable operation of measurement setups, develop them further, and train/support all their users.
Your Profile: Expertise Meets Passion
We are seeking a self-driven and innovative scientist or engineer with a robust background in operation of characterization methods and/or tandem solar cell technology.
Your Qualifications:
- A degree in science or engineering (PhD preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of solar cell characterization with good theoretical understanding of and practical experience with luminescence methods (PL, EL, PLQY, µPL, TRPL etc.), spectroscopic methods (spectrometers, ellipsometers) and methods for analysis of charge carrier dynamics (Impedance, Hall Effect, etc.)
- Experience in computer programming with typical instrumentation software like Python, LabVIEW, and SQL.
- Preferably, industry experience with automated/inline measurement concepts and the corresponding control and communication protocols (Ethernet, Profibus)
- Ideally, familiarity with modelling your measurements with simulation software like PC1D, Quokka, SunSolve, Setfos and/or Sentaurus Device.
- A goal-oriented, systematic, and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office – familiarity with statistical software is a plus.
- Very good spoken and written English skills – good proficiency in German is a bonus.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
