Mission
The Head of the Business Unit holds overall entrepreneurial responsibility
for a defined product segment and its sustainable business success. This
includes responsibility for the strategic direction, profitable growth, and
long-term competitiveness of the business across the entire product
lifecycle. Key focus areas include the continuous development of the
product portfolio, the realization of market and innovation opportunities,
and the sustainable enhancement of value creation and overall business
performance.
Within the matrix organization, the Head of the Business Unit operates on
an equal footing with the heads of the central functional areas. While the
functional areas ensure company-wide operational excellence, standards,
processes, and the efficient provision of resources, the Head of the
Business Unit represents the market, customer, product, and financial
perspective, driving innovation, growth, and value creation within the
product segment. The role is an entrepreneurial leadership position with
full profit-and-loss responsibility and the mandate to identify market
opportunities at an early stage, make strategic decisions, and consistently
align the organization with customer, market, and business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the business and growth strategy for the
Milling & Recycling Business Unit
- Assume overall responsibility for revenue, financial results,
profitability, and the sustainable increase of the Business Unit's
value
- Manage and develop the product portfolio throughout the entire
product lifecycle
- Identify and realize market, customer, and innovation opportunities
to ensure long-term business success
- Lead and further develop the Product Management, Product-Specific
Engineering, and Project Management functions in a goal-oriented
manner
- Prioritize development, investment, and resource allocation decisions
consistently based on expected business value
- Manage cross-functional activities within the matrix organization and
ensure the achievement of defined objectives
- Establish and maintain strategic customer relationships and
effectively represent the Business Unit both internally and
externally
- Foster an entrepreneurial culture with a strong focus on customer
orientation, innovation, profitable growth, and sustainable value
creation
