We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Modeler for HVAC and Plumbing design to join our Engineering team. For this position, you will be responsible for implementing mechanical designs in our 3D Revit models, resolving clashes, and preparing construction drawings for execution.
What You'll Do
As part of our Mechanical Design team, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Revit models of our Gigafactory, by working closely with team members to create ventilation, piping and plumbing networks according to given redlines.
Responsible for creating clash-free models, attend weekly BIM coordination meetings with all other disciplines and discuss resolution of clashes.
Perform regular model quality checks to ensure model accuracy, completeness, and correct data input before submission.
Follow Tesla BIM standards, naming conventions, and data requirements when making model updates.
Populate and update asset metadata within Revit in accordance with defined templates and standards.
Publish design documents to Autodesk Forma for review and approval.
Work with BIM managers to improve modelling consistency through the use of standard families, templates, and workflows.
Develop asset library for the mechanical equipment in Revit and AutoCAD.
Conduct site walks and review laser scans to implement as-built designs.
Create equipment bills of quantities (BOQs) from Revit.
Update mechanical and plumbing schematics (P&IDs) in AutoCAD.
What You'll Bring
Technischer Systemkonstrukteur HSK (technical draftsman for HAVC Systems) with min. 5 years' experience or bachelor's degree.
Strong experience in modelling and detailing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing systems.
Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, including cross-discipline clash detection and coordination.
Ability to understand markups and implement engineers’ requirements inside models and schematics.
Good experience with Autodesk Forma.
Preferable drafting experience related to bio-tech labs or factory / industrial HVAC piping projects, such as manufacturing R&D, industrial, mission critical/data centers, chiller plants, boiler plants. Experience in drafting experience on hydronic heating or cooling systems greater than 5 MW preferred.
Capable of managing multiple complex projects / modeling tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in technical English, German language skills preferred or willing to learn.
