We are a company with over 30 years’ experience in developing, manufacturing and supplying measurement, testing and automation systems.

Under the name APS Antriebs- Prüf- und Steuertechnik GmbH, we deliver state-of-the-art and innovative testing systems, often bespoke solutions tailored to specific customers and applications, for geotechnical investigations and materials testing. Our business divisions operate under the brand names ‘Wille Geotechnik’ for geotechnical applications and ‘APS Adaptive Solutions’ for industrial applications.

Our national and international projects are primarily in the fields of renewable energy, wind power, geothermal energy and thermal storage, or comparable applications, with a close link to current research topics. Our national and international clients include renowned universities, colleges and private testing laboratories, as well as industrial companies.

To strengthen our team in the Sales division, we are urgently seeking a

Geoscientist, Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer or Building Materials Tester for our technical sales team (m/f/d)

A key part of the role involves handling customer enquiries and public tenders from a technical, commercial and legal perspective.

Working in collaboration with the relevant internal specialist departments, you will develop application-specific solutions and finalise these in quotations.

Furthermore, during the project phase, you will oversee the implementation of customer orders, taking into account the application-specific requirements. In this role, you will also act as a key liaison between Sales, customers and our internal technical departments.

To achieve product and system solutions that are as economically viable as possible through detailed preparation of application requirements
To contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives

Your Key Duties

You will support the field sales team in acquiring new customers
You will ensure customer support for existing clients and act as the point of contact for our clients
You will assist with administrative tasks in sales and act as a liaison between our clients, the field sales team and internal specialist departments
You will be involved in our quotation process, from research and analysis of client enquiries or public tenders right through to the final submission of the quotation
You will assist with marketing tasks and the organisation of trade fairs
You will monitor and coordinate deadlines and workflows throughout the entire quotation process
You will assist with the conception and planning of products, taking into account future market and application requirements
You will support customer acceptance procedures, either in-house or, where necessary, at the customer’s premises

Your Accountabilities

As part of client projects, you will liaise closely with project management and clients
You will work with technical departments and, in specific cases, with clients to develop concepts (proposed solutions) for use in planning and technical implementation
You will involve the relevant internal departments in the preparation and costing of quotations for complex projects
You will act as the point of contact for the client and the project team on application-related issues
Throughout the project, you will keep track of client and application requirements and, where necessary, take new requirements into account without, however, neglecting the project’s financial objectives

Your profile

We are looking to engage with a responsible, goal-oriented individual who possesses strong negotiation skills, assertiveness and a solution-oriented mindset
You are able to communicate with a diverse range of international clients and their cultures
Ideally, you will have a degree in geosciences, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering or building materials testing, or equivalent experience and knowledge gained through comparable roles
You may already possess a good practical understanding of geotechnical testing and experimental procedures
Previous experience in application-oriented client consultancy would make it easier for you to settle into the role
Ideally, you will have gained experience in an internationally oriented company and have a good command of English
You have business-fluent English and are proficient in using standard MS Office products
