Join a cutting-edge engineering team developing next-generation metrology instrumentation, imaging systems, and software algorithms. This role supports complex cross-functional programs spanning hardware, software, and vendor ecosystems.
You will coordinate prototype builds, DCS/metrology instrumentation development, and software algorithm execution (including imaging and data-processing workflows), working closely with engineering teams in Munich and global suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting across hardware, instrumentation, and software algorithm workstreams
- Coordinate execution of prototype builds, DCS systems, Light Field camera developments, and metrology instrumentation
- Drive cross-functional delivery across Engineering, Software Engineering, QA, Procurement, Operations, and Commercial teams
- Track project progress, identify risks, and define mitigation actions
- Manage external vendors and suppliers, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and quality
- Monitor vendor deliverables across global time zones and escalate issues when needed
- Support software algorithm development coordination, including imaging and data-processing workflows
- Run and support SDLC activities: milestone tracking, bug reviews, validation, and release readiness
- Use tools such as Jira / Azure DevOps / Radar for issue tracking, planning, and reporting
- Facilitate meetings, documentation, and structured stakeholder updates (weekly reporting included)
- Improve governance, reporting, and delivery processes across HW/SW programs
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in engineering or technical project management
- Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects
- Strong cross-functional coordination (Engineering, Software, Vendors)
- Experience with project and/or bug tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience working with global teams and time zones
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in fast-paced hardware + software environments
Preferred Skills & Background
- Degree in Engineering (Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Physics, or related)
- Experience in metrology, imaging systems, optics, or instrumentation
- Exposure to software development environments (especially imaging / computer vision / algorithm systems)
- Experience coordinating hardware + software integrated development programs
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience
Team Leadership Responsibilities
- Oversee team deliverables and ensure quality standards
- Support resource planning, scheduling, and workload distribution
- Manage onboarding, training, and ongoing team support
- Act as first point of contact for escalations
- Monitor team progress and provide regular summary reports
- Ensure continuity through proper planning and coverage
