Serves as journeyman carpenter with responsibility for new installation, repair maintenance and fabrication of wooden fixtures. Determines own work methods to be Employed, plans sequence of work, selects tools, materials and Equipment and otherwise carries assignment trough to completion, utilizing the full range of trade techniques and work methods. Works alone or as a member of a work crew, either in a shop situation or at a work site, and applies the full range of carpentry skills and techniques in repairing, constructing, remodeling and maintaining a variety of wooden structures in family housing, administrative and off ice buildings, warehouses and storage areas, troop housing, technical and shop structures and related facilities.
Repairs, fabricates, installs and erects sheds, barracks, frames, partitions, etc. Measures, saws, planes, grinds, cuts and shapes lumber and timber to prescribed forms and measurements which are provided on work orders, drawings, sketches, taken from patterns or obtained at the work site. Fits and joins parts by applicable methods such as nailing, clamping and screwing. Smoothes and finishes surface. May paint with preservative oil or paint. Installs and erects frames, structures and scaffolds; secures and joins with existing structures. Uses and maintains hand-tools and machine tools common to the trade. Aligns and adjusts machine tools to required measurements.
Repairs, fabricates and installs wooden fixtures such as doors, windows, built-in frames, floors, racks and other fixtures. Performs maintenance work as requested by work orders. Uses drawings and sketches for fabrication of new items. Measures, saws, planes, grinds, cuts and shapes lumber, boards, timber, etc. by use of hand and machine tools. Fits and joins parts by applicable methods such as nailing screwing, gluing, mortising and tenoning. Finishes surface; installs articles into structures. Lays parquet, linoleum and rubber floors using proper materials, procedures, hand and powered tools.
Fabricates and installs frames or casings for windows, doors, transoms and ventilators, shelves, counters, plywood ductwork, bulletin boards, cabinets, bookcases and related features having built-in characteristics. Insures that installed components are leveled and accurately aligned with other parts of the structure. Installs doors and window sashes. Trims, mortises, drills and prepares items for attachment of hardware.
Applies caulking compound or other filler material around door and window casings and at other points where tight seal is required. Fabricates concrete forms, scaffolds, storage pallets, storage bins, tables, workbenches and related items.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten, PLUS 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Lohngruppe 5 oder in, vom Schwierigkeitsgrad vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten, welche selbstaendig ausgeuebt wurden. /
Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently.

8 Jahre einschlaegige Berufserfahrung von denen mindestens 3 Jahre in der Lohngruppe 5 oder vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten ausgeuebt wurden. /
8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
- Bewerber müssen den Führerschein Klasse B besitzen. / Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B.
- Bewerber muessen in der Lage sein einen militaer Führerschein zu erwerben und zu behalten. / Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
