For our concept Shōwa Izakaya in Frankfurt, we bring the nostalgic atmosphere of 1970s Shinjuku to life, featuring Japanese street food, charcoal-grilled kushiyaki, masterfully mixed drinks, and vinyl soundscape.
Job Description As a Bartender, you are a core element of the guest experience at Showa Izakaya. You will craft high-quality cocktails, serve select Japanese spirits, and maintain a high-energy, welcoming bar atmosphere. Working in close rhythm with our floor team and vinyl soundscape, you ensure every drink served matches our high culinary and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Drink Preparation: Craft signature cocktails, serve highballs, Japanese whiskies, sake, and beer with precision and attention to detail.
- Bar Mise en Place: Prepare syrups, garnishes, ice, and bar stations ahead of the evening service.
- Guest Interaction: Deliver warm, attentive service to guests seated at the bar, providing menu recommendations and background on our drink concepts.
- Bar Operations & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation during and after service in accordance with food safety standards.
- Inventory & Stocking: Monitor bar stock, track liquor inventory, and report reorder needs to management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bartender or mixologist, ideally in high-volume or concept-driven gastronomy.
- Solid knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, and basic bar techniques (interest in Japanese bar culture is a strong plus).
- Strong focus on cleanliness, detail, and speed during peak hours.
- Good command of English or German.
- Flexibility to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong reliability, communication skills, and a team-first attitude.
