Summary:
As a Product Safety Engineer at TÜV Rheinland, you will ensure the safety and compliance of advanced machinery, automation/robotics, and semiconductor equipment. This role combines hands‑on testing, standards interpretation, safety design reviews, and direct client collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze client documentation and product construction to define project scope, requirements, timelines, and sample needs.

Conduct product evaluations in-house and at client sites to verify compliance with global standards (IEC, EN, UL, CSA, NFPA, SEMI).

Prepare technical reports, document findings, and communicate results to clients.

Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring clear communication and smooth project execution.

Lead client meetings to provide updates, address technical issues, and discuss test‑specific challenges.

Support process improvements, develop new test strategies, and evaluate emerging product requirements.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.

3+ years of experience in product safety, regulatory compliance, or equipment testing.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, manufacturing processes, and safety‑critical systems.

Knowledge of relevant standards, including EN/IEC 60204‑1, NFPA 79, EN/IEC/UL/CSA 61010‑1, CSA C22.2 No. 301, UL 508A, SEMI S2/S8/S22, and the Machinery Directive.

Familiarity with functional safety principles (e.g., ISO 13849).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Willingness to travel 60–80%; valid driver’s license required.
