As a Backend Engineer on the core infrastructure team, you'll design and scale the foundational systems that make all of this possible. You'll work across billing, payments, and distributed data services in a high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environment.
Solve for complexity through design — architect clean, maintainable solutions to genuinely hard infrastructure problems.
Scale the core — build and evolve the services that power billing, energy-market integrations, and accounting at scale.

Must-haves:
Proficiency in backend development with TypeScript (Node.js) and a strong command of asynchronous programming patterns.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM — ideally Drizzle — for robust data access layers.
Experience with Next.js, including API routes or server components used for backend services.
Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and designing scalable, maintainable core services.
C1+ English proficiency (written and verbal).
Strong CS fundamentals — whether from a formal degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have:
Experience integrating Stripe payments and related billing workflows.
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Temporal) or API frameworks (e.g. Hono).
Background in energy, fintech, or other regulated/complex-domain infrastructure.
Soft skills:
Strong written and verbal communicator.

Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 USD per year (or local equivalent)
