The Role - Master EV Technician
As a Master EV Technician, you will play a key technical role within our operation, helping to maintain the safety, reliability and performance of an autonomous electric vehicle fleet.
This is a hands-on position involving the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and high-voltage systems across a range of EV and autonomous vehicle platforms. Alongside traditional workshop activities, you will support hardware upgrades, software deployments and fault-finding on technologies including LiDAR, RADAR, sensors and autonomous vehicle systems.
You will work closely with engineering, operations and fleet teams to investigate technical issues, implement solutions and support continuous improvements across the fleet. As one of the senior technical members of the team, you will also provide guidance and technical support to other technicians when required.
The role offers exposure to advanced vehicle technologies and operational environments that are not typically found in a traditional workshop setting.
Compensation & Working Hours
€75,000–€90,000 base salary, plus up to 20% shift premium
This role will be performed on a shift basis and is expected to include night and weekend working, compensated through applicable shift premiums. Shift patterns will be confirmed once the final site location has been agreed. Candidates will receive full details during the recruitment process and prior to any offer being made.

Responsibilities
· Independently diagnose, repair and maintain autonomous electric vehicles across mechanical, electrical and integrated AV systems
· Carry out complex hardware retrofits, including sensor installation, LiDAR, RADAR and AV hardware replacement
· Perform and document fleet-wide software and firmware updates
· Diagnose advanced EV and AV systems, including electrical, HVAC, mechanical and autonomous technologies
· Work closely with engineering teams to resolve complex system issues
· Provide technical guidance, coaching and support to EV Technicians
· Support fleet-wide hardware and software upgrade programmes
· Maintain accurate repair, diagnostic and parts records
· Continuously develop knowledge of autonomous vehicle technologies and high-voltage systems
Requirements
· 8+ years of hands-on automotive experience covering brakes, suspension, alignment, electrical systems and software/firmware
· Strong high-voltage diagnostic and repair experience on electric or hybrid vehicles
· DGUV 209-093 qualification – minimum SHV Specialist Level 2 (high-voltage diagnostics and fault analysis). Level 3 (live-line working) advantageous
· Qualified Automotive Mechatronics Technician (Kfz-Mechatroniker) with relevant EV or high-voltage specialization
· Proficient using hand tools, power tools and modern diagnostic equipment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex integrated systems
· Careful, methodical and safety-focused approach to work
· Fluent German language skills; English beneficial for collaboration with international teams
· Must have a valid Full EU Driving License - Auto / Car
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with premium manufacturers such as JLR, McLaren, Tesla, Porsche, BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz or similar
· Experience with sensor calibration or autonomous vehicle testing
· Basic knowledge of Linux, Python, Java, C++, Jira or Google Workspace
· Meisterbrief qualification desirable but not essential

Working Environment
You will work in a modern workshop environment supporting an operational fleet of electric and autonomous vehicles.
The role combines hands-on vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, software updates, hardware retrofits and fault-finding across mechanical, electrical and high-voltage systems. You will work closely with technicians, operations teams and engineering specialists to maintain vehicle reliability and support fleet upgrades.
The role includes regular standing, lifting up to 25kg, working in confined spaces and occasional use of vehicle lifts. All required PPE and safety equipment will be provided. Reasonable accommodations can be made for qualified applicants with disabilities.
