What to Expect
As part of the Cell Ramp-up at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg and the associated expansion of the analytical Cell Laboratories, we are seeking a dedicated Team Lead S5. In this position, you will support the Shift Supervisor in ensuring smooth daily operations. You will act as the direct interface between the laboratory technicians and the Shift Supervisor, coordinating day-to-day activities, assisting in P1 situations, and ensuring timely escalation and resolution of critical issues—with a particular focus on mechanical and chemical analyses.
You will work closely with materials scientists, engineers, and technicians to maintain the highest standards in safety, quality, and performance. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and highly dynamic.
What You'll Do-
Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 8–10 employees, including resource planning and process optimization in the Cell Lab

Act as the direct interface to the Shift Supervisor: support daily operations, relieve administrative tasks, and ensure efficient workflows

Take on coordination responsibility in P1 situations and ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical issues

Manage and monitor procurement orders

Perform and supervise standardized routine and complex measurement tasks and analyses (e.g., chemical analyses, mechanical testing, microscopic examinations, powder analyses, and electrolyte analysis)

Prepare and review laboratory reports, conduct plausibility checks, and perform quality audits

Contribute to process optimizations, commissioning of new laboratory equipment, and creation of quality-relevant documentation

Take responsibility for 5S activities, occupational safety, and hygiene standards

Manage inventory of consumables and chemicals and carry out preventive maintenance work
What You'll Bring-
Completed technical vocational training as a chemical laboratory technician, materials tester, or a comparable qualification

Several years professional experience in a quality or analytical laboratory, preferably in the automotive or battery industry

Initial leadership experience and willingness to take on responsibility

Experience with laboratory equipment such as SEM, ICP-OES, DSC, DMA, Rheometer, GC-MS, and other analytical instruments is an advantage

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management tools is a plus

Very good English skills (spoken and written); German skills are an advantage
