Internship Description
QuantumBasel's business and research applications accelerate the way AI technologies can transform industries. We focus on building and deploying advanced AI systems and leverage simple and fast access to leading compute infrastructure, GPUs and CPUs, both on-premise and via the cloud. QuantumBasel's industry-agnostic focus is helping to transform industries. Today's customers include organizations in logistics, healthcare and life sciences, energy, manufacturing, and financial services.
This internship is about making QuantumBasel itself run on AI, and taking that capability to our clients. Roughly 60 percent of your time goes into automating how we work internally: processes across sales, marketing, delivery, finance, and operations turned into working AI workflows. The remaining 40 percent is client-facing, where you support workshops, use case assessments, and proofs of concept and bring what already works internally into engagements. The emphasis throughout is on shipping fast with tools that already exist: agent platforms, workflow orchestrators, and the AI features inside modern business systems. Custom code where it genuinely adds value, configuration and integration everywhere else. You will see the same automation problem from both sides, which is a rare thing to learn this early.
Potential topics available at QuantumBasel (non-exhaustive list):
- Process discovery and design: mapping how work actually happens today, quantifying the manual effort, and identifying where automation creates real leverage
- Workflow automation: building and operating end-to-end automations on platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or Power Automate
- Agentic AI in the business stack: deploying LLM agents and assistants that handle multi-step tasks across our tools, using platforms like Copilot Studio, Claude, or comparable agent frameworks
- CRM, marketing, and sales automation: lead routing, enrichment, reporting, and content workflows across HubSpot, Microsoft 365, and adjacent systems
- Document and knowledge workflows: automated extraction, summarization, and retrieval over proposals, reports, and internal knowledge bases
- Integration work: connecting systems via APIs, webhooks, and event triggers, with light custom code where no off-the-shelf connector fits
- Client delivery: supporting automation workshops, use case assessments, and proofs of concept for clients in logistics, life sciences, financial services, and manufacturing
- Reliability and adoption: monitoring, guardrails, and documentation so automations keep working and colleagues actually use them
Requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business informatics, engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with workflow automation and integration platforms.
- Practical experience building with LLMs, whether through APIs, agent platforms, or AI features embedded in business tools.
- Working knowledge of Python and comfort with APIs, JSON, authentication, and data formats. You should be able to write the glue code when the no-code path runs out.
- Familiarity with common business systems such as CRM, marketing automation, ticketing, or collaboration suites.
- A process mindset: you can sit with a colleague or a client, understand their workflow, and come back with something that removes the tedious part of it.
- Comfortable explaining technical work to non-technical audiences. You will spend as much time understanding a process as automating it.
- Pragmatism about build versus buy. We value a working automation delivered this week over a perfect architecture delivered next quarter.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including motivation to experiment with and learn new technologies.
- Strong team player.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate and adapt to evolving technology landscapes.
- Fluency in English. Fluency in German is a plus.
- Requirement: Holding a Swiss/EU/EFTA passport or a valid Swiss/EU/EFTA permit.
