To strengthen our Public Infrastructure Division in Braunschweig, we are seeking a Junior Architect / Civil Engineer (m/f/d) to join our international team.
This position offers an excellent entry point into international development cooperation through hands-on work on public infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Project Director and project teams in the Public Infrastructure Division
- Contribute to the implementation and technical development of ongoing projects
- Conduct site surveys, collect site data and user requirements, and support stakeholder engagement
- Prepare, adapt, and review architectural designs (conceptual and detailed) in line with client requirements
- Draft, revise, and review technical documentation
- Assist in monitoring project progress within multidisciplinary and international teams
- Support field teams in project planning and implementation activities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
- Strong interest in working in international and intercultural environments
- Basic knowledge of designing public infrastructure such as schools, health centers, and markets is an asset
- Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design approaches
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while being accountable within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of French or Portuguese is a strong asset; German is a plus
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit); BIM knowledge is an advantage
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel internationally and undertake mid and short-term assignments abroad
- Initial professional experience is an asset but not required
