What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Senior EHS Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) for the Paintshp department at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg — where our cars come alive with color. You will work closely with the Paint Team as well as other EHS specialists, providing expert support in occupational health & safety and environmental protection. In addition to the legally mandated responsibilities under § 6 of the German Occupational Safety Act, expertise in chemical safety, occupational health, and environmental protection is expected.
Reporting to the Associate EHS Manager, you will play a central role in continuous improvement — particularly in event investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of effective, practical measures. The environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and demands high ownership.
What You'll Do-
Assist management in fulfilling their legal obligations, including carrying out risk assessments, implementing protective measures according to the STOP principle, creating operating instructions and safety training materials, and ensuring minimum requirements for first-aid personnel, fire wardens, and safety officers.
-
Drive industrial hygiene programs covering solvent/VOC exposure, isocyanates, particulates, and noise; coordinate monitoring and corrective actions.
-
Handle and investigate workplace accidents, including correct classification, root cause analysis, and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
-
Establish a clear communication structure regarding department-specific risks, incidents, safety measures, and relevant KPIs.
-
Collaborate with other EHS Specialists on cross-functional topics such as environmental protection, hazardous substances, ATEX, and machinery safety.
What You'll Bring-
5+ years of relevant experience as a Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, ideally with a focus on the automotive industry.
-
Extensive knowledge in health and environmental protection as well as workplace regulations and directives (particularly Arbeitsstättenverordnung/ASR).
-
Additional qualifications in hazardous substances, ATEX, fire protection, or machinery safety are a plus.
-
Excellent communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly and precisely.
-
Solid practical mindset with a high level of initiative and a genuine drive for continuous safety improvement.
-
Motivation to work in a fast-paced, international, and multicultural environment that values innovative and creative solutions.
-
Proven ability to understand and confidently apply legal requirements in occupational safety, environment, and health.
