What to Expect
The Role
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Process Engineer Stamping, who will be responsible for the processes of Stamping consisting of Class-A Parts as well as structural parts in steel and aluminum for the Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg. This includes process engineering in the entire stamping area, as well as press line part automation using robots and toolings. Within this role you will be a team member in the Tool & Die Process team Stamping.
What You'll Do-
Reports to Manager Stamping Die & Process Engineering

Does not manage people

Acts based on directions by the manager and undertake actions for process improvement
- Responsible for executing the job with focus on cost, quality and timing

Build and maintains an attitude of team player to fellow positions within the home organization and interacting organizations
Acts compliant with environmental, health/ safety/ security regulations

- Acts as the owner / expert to drive process improvements in shop and press line including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Engineering of press line robot curves, automation tooling improvement driving for minimum G-forces and targeting for zero automation downtimes

Continually monitors and reports process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like First Time Through, Overall Equipment Efficiency, Safety Matrix, Quality Targets and Yield

Improves non-production materials and layout for 5S
- Improves fixtures and supporting devices including ergonomics in a sustaining manner

Works closely with the Manufacturing Engineering teams during stamping die commissioning and ramp of new equipment, parts and processes to learn the system and pinpoint any improvement potential

Updates and documents Process FMEA and contributes to zero-defect policy

Ensure critical process parameters are properly documented and tracked using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
What You'll Bring-
BS/MS degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering. The equivalent in experience is also acceptable with evidence of exceptional ability

5+ year of Process Engineering experience within the automotive, is a must
-
Previous experience in tool & die making and / or press automation is an asset

Previous experience in working in and acting with multiple groups of professionals

Previous experience in stamping manufacturing

Basic knowledge of CATIA is a plus

Strong knowledge in reading and understanding part measurement reports and their impact on assembly

Solidly organized, with meticulous attention to detail

Experience with structured problem-solving methodology

Able to work under intense time pressure in the presence others

Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Knowledge on how to use AI tools (e.g. Claude, or Chat GP competitors) to improve processes and standard task is a plus

Travel is included, including some internationally may be required from time to time

Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

Fluent in the English language

Good understanding in the German language is a big plus
