Location: Egypt
As Supplier Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of food safety and quality compliance of external suppliers and their products, located in Egypt. You will report to the Group Supplier Assurance Manager and coordinate between different stakeholders to ensure and apply global sourcing strategy.
- You lead supplier quality inspections and food safety audits across our regional network of frozen fruit, vegetable, and herb suppliers. Through thorough pre-shipment inspections, you ensure products consistently meet agreed quality specifications and Ardo's high standards for food safety, quality, and sustainability.
- You drive supplier sustainability initiatives, promoting responsible sourcing and supporting environmental and ethical commitments throughout the supply chain. You also monitor and follow up on corrective action plans resulting from audits, inspections, or complaints, ensuring continuous improvement and long-term supplier development.
- You take ownership of critical supplier-related issues, including food safety and supply chain complaints, and proactively optimize sampling and control plans when needed. In close collaboration with Lead Buyers and Sales teams, you support new product development, assess supplier capabilities, and provide regular crop and market insights.
- You evaluate and classify supplier performance, translating findings into actionable recommendations for procurement and supplier development. You facilitate supplier review meetings, contribute to the selection and onboarding of new suppliers, and help build a high-performing supplier network aligned with Ardo's standards and ambitions.
- You develop, maintain, and continuously improve supplier assurance procedures at group level, ensuring consistency, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the entire supplier base.
We are looking for an experienced professional with the following qualifications:
- You have a Master or an engineering degree in Food Science, Food processing Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Agriculture or similar Agronomy- Food related qualification
- Experience in food industry, including auditing experience is a must
- Good knowledge of GFSI standards, including primary production standards (Globalgap or other), is an asset
- Being aware of priorities - handling problems at the right time, with the right perception
- Criticism, controlling capacities – good communication capacities – structured way of working
- Sense for order and neatness
- Willing to travel regularly and you work from your home base
- You embody Ardo’s core values by being customer-focused, taking ownership, acting with passion, and leading with authenticity
- You speak English fluently
