Das Plasmazentrum Würzuburg gehört zu den fünf Standorten des Blutspendedienstes des Bayerischen Roten Kreuzes. Es ist das einzige Zentrum des BSD, in dem ausschließlich Plasma für die Versorgung der Kliniken in Bayern gewonnen wird. Patient-/innen mit Autoimmunerkrankungen, Gerinnungsstörungen oder nach großem Blutverlust sind auf die Plasmaprodukte angewiesen.
Mit einem Team von ca. 25 Mitarbeitende und einer Kapazität von 28 Spenderliegen leistet das Plasmazentrum einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Plasmaversorgung für diese Patient-/innen.
