Avionics Systems Engineer – Communication Systems (m/f/d):
PACE Engineering and IT, part of the TXT Group, is looking for an Avionics Systems Engineer focused on communication systems to join the Aerospace & Defence team and contribute to the development of advanced communication architectures for next-generation airborne platforms.
Main responsibilities:
Design and develop airborne and ground communication architectures, leveraging advanced and emerging technologies.
Coordinate and maintain relationships with industry partners, suppliers, and government representatives.
Oversee the full systems engineering process, from requirements definition through verification, validation, and qualification.
Plan, execute, and monitor testing activities at both system and aircraft levels, including coordination of flight test campaigns.
Prepare and manage certification and compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with aviation regulations and applicable standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Provide regular technical and project updates to Chief Engineering and Programme Management, highlighting progress, risks, and significant design changes.
Mandatory technical skills:
Strong understanding of both military and civil communication technologies, including software-defined radios (SDR), data links, air-to-air and air-to-ground communication systems, cybersecurity principles, RF communications, SATCOM, network management, electronic countermeasures and jamming, antenna design, electronic warfare, and secure communication architectures.
Optional technical skills:
Experience in systems engineering, aircraft certification, and avionics integration.
Behavioural skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting abilities.
Ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience level:
Middle: 3–5 years of experience.
Senior: 6+ years of experience.
Languages:
Fluent English; Italian is considered a plus.
