What you will be doing:
In this role, you will get the chance to:
- Perform whole engine performance predictions and analysis using computer simulations to satisfy system requirements, with expertise in both steady-state and transient performance.
- Demonstrate expert understanding of engine-level issues related to system design, performance, operability, and engine operation.
- Apply process and technical knowledge to ensure engineering solutions meet customer and certification requirements and comply with engineering processes.
- Lead performance testing, publish technical reports, and deliver technical presentations of engineering analysis and results.
- Contribute to engine certification processes, including defining plans to fulfill requirements for engine performance.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to develop effective solutions.
- Define and implement best practices in performance across the organisation.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate a strong understanding of related disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized system solutions.
- Solve complex and unique performance challenges to drive product improvement.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's in either Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science or equivalent field of experience.
- Experience in jet engine or gas turbine performance would be appreciated.
- First Experience with NPSS, Gasturb or GTLab or equivalent design tools would be appreciated.
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages (Matlab, Python, SQL) and Microsoft Office Package.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to, aerodynamics and thermodynamics.
- Experience working within regulated engineering environments.
- Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Good English written and spoken. Knowledge of German is an asset.
