About the Role
Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don't come with a script. It's not about pushing a product - it's about building long-term partnerships in a fast-changing environment. As an Account Manager I for Eats SMB, you will step away from predictable corporate playbooks and dive into the real-world momentum of our marketplace.
Managing a post-sales portfolio of small and medium businesses within an assigned territory, your mission is to help restaurant partners thrive while protecting and growing core business metrics. The pace here is intense and the portfolio is complex; you will experience the daily grind of keeping partners engaged alongside the high-stakes reward of unlocking their growth. This role requires an owner's mindset, deep resilience to navigate tough partner feedback, and the adaptability to make smart decisions with imperfect information. If you are energized by the messy reality of doing big things and want to own your impact end-to-end, this is where you'll grow.
What You'll Do
- Navigate and lead post-deal partner management for a high-value, high-potential portfolio of SMB restaurant partners.
- Build and grow long-term partnerships by understanding what matters most to our merchants, driving revenue growth targets, and upselling new product features to create mutual business value.
- Unblock and advocate as the operational voice of the customer to internal teams, translating complex partner needs and navigating internal alignment to resolve challenges.
- Manage and prioritize your account pipeline and territory dynamics with discipline, adapting your approach based on shifting market realities and imperfect data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across internal operations, marketing, product, and legal teams to shape proposals, unblock processes, and deliver growth initiatives that scale.
- Communicate clearly and negotiate confidently through difficult client conversations, pricing pushbacks, and performance reviews to secure high partner retention.
- Track the details and execute rigorous joint business reviews, keeping partners steady under pressure while continuously iterating on their digital marketplace performance.
Basic Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in account management, customer-facing sales, or a closely related role.
- Experience working in customer-facing environments with a track record of meeting operational business targets or sales quotas.
- Experience using data to analyze performance metrics and apply sound business judgment to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven adaptability in navigating ambiguous or fast-changing business environments.
- Strong systems thinking and cross-functional collaboration skills to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Familiarity or proficiency with data-extraction tools (such as SQL knowledge) is a plus.
