We're a Berlin-based energy tech startup building a full-stack platform that helps energy providers — from OEMs to installers — deliver dynamic electricity plans and cost-saving energy services to European businesses and consumers. We're at an early, high-impact stage, and we're looking for a Product Engineer who sits at the intersection of customer discovery, end-to-end delivery, and engineering culture.
You'll own mission-critical problems in energy retail — billing, procurement, retention, cost optimisation — and use strong product judgment and AI-native tooling to turn complex domain challenges into intuitive, production-grade experiences. This is a role for someone who wants outsized impact on a small, mission-driven team.
Sit with customers to dissect problems and develop product intuition that directly guides engineering decisions.
Ship end-to-end solutions across the full stack, taking features from discovery through to production.
Leverage AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as force multipliers to accelerate output and increase impact.
Own zero-to-one problems — such as dunning workflows or customer portal re-engineering — from blank page to live product.
Prioritise and curate the work queue: decide what to build, what to skip, and when to kill initiatives.
Tackle core energy retail challenges: billing, procurement, customer retention, and cost optimisation.
Shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes; help recruit and raise the bar for the team.
Adapt quickly to new tools and methods, and bring the rest of the team along with you.
Must-haves:
A clear track record of shipping real product work — we care about what you've built, not just years on a CV.
2+ years of software engineering experience delivering end-to-end, full-stack products to production.
Proven experience owning zero-to-one problems from discovery through to production deployment.
Hands-on experience with AI-native codebases and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
Experience solving billing, procurement, customer retention, or cost-optimisation problems — ideally in energy retail or a comparable consumer-facing domain.
High ownership mindset, strong judgment, and comfort thriving in ambiguity and early-stage environments.
Nice to have:
Experience shaping engineering culture, tooling, and processes in a small or early-stage team.
Contributions to core products in high-engineering-bar environments or successful open-source projects.
Experience operating with extreme ownership in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 per year (or equivalent)
Early-stage equity opportunity
Work on a small, high-ownership team with direct product and business impact
Visa sponsorship: Not available — candidates must have the right to work in Germany
This role is on-site in Berlin, Germany (Mitte). We're looking for people who want to be present and embedded with the team — remote-only arrangements are not available for this position.
