A fast-growing, Series A/B EdTech startup based in Berlin is looking for a Visiting Finance Analyst to join its Finance team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a rare early-career opportunity to work directly alongside senior leadership — including the Director of Finance & People — and gain hands-on experience building a modern finance function from the ground up. You'll have real ownership of workstreams, direct access to decision-makers, and a front-row seat to how a high-growth tech company manages its finances. The company operates a widely used AI-powered learning platform with tens of millions of users globally across more than 30 countries.
Work directly alongside the Director of Finance & People as a hands-on contributor, acting as a trusted right hand across projects and priorities.
Prepare decision briefs and support cross-functional initiatives, keeping projects on track across Finance, Growth, Engineering, and Legal.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors.
Contribute to accurate, reliable financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Assist with operational controlling, including budget planning, financial forecasting, and liquidity tracking.
Build monthly reports, conduct ad hoc deep dives, and translate data into clear, decision-ready analysis.
Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations to reduce manual workflows.
Help evolve the finance function from static reporting toward dynamic, AI-enhanced financial intelligence.
Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers.
Must-haves:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
Professional working proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
Foundational knowledge of accounting principles sufficient to support financial close and reporting processes.
Proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience analyzing financial data to generate reports and inform decisions.
Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, or year-end close processes, audit coordination, or multi-jurisdiction financial reporting.
Experience with financial planning tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, or liquidity tracking.
Experience using automation tools, AI applications, or low-code platforms to streamline finance or operational workflows.
Nice-to-haves:
Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or consulting.
Familiarity with German accounting standards (HGB) or IFRS reporting requirements.
Familiarity with BI tools or data visualization platforms for financial dashboards.
Experience working in a high-growth startup or technology environment.
