for a position as a
Postdoctoral scientist TV-L E13 (100%)
available from now on.
The applicant will join the team of Professor Sebastian Suerbaum at Max von
Pettenkofer Institute of LMU Munich. The group uses a combination of genetic,
genomic and biochemical approaches to study the population biology, evolution and
pathogenesis of gastrointestinal infections with a special focus on the carcinogenic
gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori.
The position is initially limited to two years, with a perspective of prolongation.
Applicants must have completed their studies in life sciences with a doctoral degree.
Furthermore, we expect applicants to be highly motivated, to have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills and to like working in a team. Preference will
be given to candidates with documented experimental skills in the area of molecular
microbiology and experience in handling pathogenic bacteria. NGS/bioinformatics

The position provides the opportunity to study one of the most exciting and medically
relevant bacterial pathogens as a member of an international team that is highly
recognized in the field. Our newly refurbished and climatized labs are situated in
Munich city center (close to Sendlinger Tor).
