We are looking for a Working Student (f/m/d) - Machine Vision Marker Design in our Computer Vision team at B. Braun New Ventures in Freiburg for at least 6 months .
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will support the design of a new tracker for surgical navigation software
You will study existing Computer Vision marker designs, such as ArUco Markers
You will design and execute parameter studies to evaluate the impact of design choices
You will collect data and train detection models based on the new design
You will conduct accuracy tests using novel tracking technologies for surgical navigation
You will develop and maintain scripts and tools using Python
You will analyze test results and contribute to the improvement of tracking robustness and accuracy
You are open to collaborate with software engineers, robotics experts, and clinical stakeholders in an agile Scrum environment
Professional Competencies:
Enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
Programming skills in Python, Pytorch, OpenCV
Proficient in software development: prototyping, coding, documentation
A deep understanding of computer vision algorithms, deep learning technology, and image processing knowledge
Experience using computer vision algorithms, training and validating deep Neural Networks
It's a plus to have experience with popular object detection models, such as YOLO
It's a plus to have experience with graphics simulation, such as Unity
It's a plus to have a good understanding of 3D Geometry
Personal Competencies:
Interest in medical technology, computer vision algorithms, and system accuracy
Good communication skills in English; German is a bonus
Motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a high-tech, interdisciplinary environment
