What to Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Operation Manager to serve as the primary program owner for one or more assigned electronic component suppliers. This role is accountable for end-to-end execution of Tesla's supply chain programs at the supplier level — spanning forecast management, capacity planning, purchase agreements, data quality, and cross-functional coordination across all commodities from the account.
The SOM acts as the key liaison between Tesla's Supply Chain organization and assigned suppliers, while partnering closely with Supply Chain Managers (commodity owners), Operations Program Managers (PCBA component owners), Engineering, and Contract Manufacturing partners. This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and serve as the active program management resource ensuring supplier readiness, compliance, on time delivery and performance across Tesla vehicles, energy products, and other EE-intensive programs.
What You'll Do- Own end-to-end program execution for assigned supplier account(s), covering both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining phases
- Own/drive supplier-level Clear-to Build (CTB) visibility and materials planning processes; ensure smooth operation and clear multiweek horizon views on materials supply.
- Partner with suppliers, OPMs, and supply chain managers to resolve all material issues (including sub-tier) until closed.
Partner with Supply Chain manager and Operations Program Managers to ensure supplier data, forecasts, and component submissions are accurate.- Ensure logistics readiness and smooth material flow from suppliers to Contract Manufacturers to meet production schedules and inventory targets.
- Track and escalate supplier-specific risks, shortages, recovery plans, and performance metrics. Support supplier score card.
- Monitor and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance, materials processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Influence without authority; clear written/verbal communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous NPI/ramp environment
What You'll Bring- 3+ years in materials planning, supply chain operations, manufacturing/industrial engineering, or sourcing (electronics preferred)
- Experience with electronics supply chain: forecast management, capacity planning, NPI materials readiness, CTB, allocation, and supplier performance
- Strong analytical / data-driven skills; advanced Excel and reporting/dashboards
- Proven ability to drive shortages and risks to closure through suppliers and cross-functional partners
- Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred
- Direct supplier-account ownership in PCBA / electronic components
- Risk assessment/mitigation for critical materials
- SQL/Python or similar data tools
- Experience in a matrixed org with commodity managers and program managers
