About this opportunity
The Manufacturing & Test Technology organization is an integral part of the R&D and Industrialization function within a mobile communication antenna company. We focus on validation, verification and industrialization of antenna products and components, and develop advanced antenna test and manufacturing technologies.
As a Building Practice Engineer you will own and drive the building practice for mobile communication antennas from early opportunity analysis through validated, production-ready processes. The role focuses on scouting and selecting appropriate manufacturing technologies, developing processes and interfaces, and verifying those solutions to achieve cost-efficient, robust and scalable manufacturing. You will work across R&D, design, industrialization, test, production and suppliers to ensure designs can be manufactured predictably and at target cost and quality.
What you will do
-
Lead building practice activities from opportunity analysis and concept evaluation to validated manufacturing process handover.
-
Assess manufacturability of new antenna concepts and propose preferred manufacturing routes with attention to cost, yield, cycle time and quality.
-
Create and maintain process documentation
-
Support DFMA, D- & P-FMEA reviews in early design phases and provide constructive design-for-manufacture guidance to product designers and RF engineers.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Test & Verification, Quality, Sourcing, Production Engineering) and with external suppliers to industrialize components and processes.
You will bring
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production/Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
-
Practical experience in manufacturing/process development, ideally in electronics, RF, metal/plastics fabrication or high-volume assembly and strong understanding of manufacturing technologies
-
Experience with DFMA/DFX, process validation, capability studies, FMEA, DOE and quality methods.
-
Competence in CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/etc.), and familiarity with process simulation or CAM is an advantage.
-
Data-driven and analytical with experience in collecting and analysing process and test data.
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and to communicate process needs to designers, suppliers and production.
-
Structured, result-oriented approach and hands-on mindset; willingness to work in lab, prototype and production environments.
-
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are a plus
