Job Description:
IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented and capable Senior Project Controller to join our well-established team located in Frankfurt, Germany.
A Project Controller with a strong project cost control background along with good experience or transferable skills gained from working on EPCMV projects in Life Sciences or process related industries. Providing support to the Director of Projects, Project Managers and project team members with productivity monitoring and cost management of projects.
Job Description and Responsibilities:

EPCMV working knowledge and experience, through all phases from inception to handover, on assignments / projects from £50K to > £200M

Ability to develop and understand productivity measurement of projects using Earned Value Management and similar techniques

Working closely with the Project Managers and project team members, responsible for project cost reporting and cost analysis, with continuous deliverables tracking, updating, monitoring and maintenance of project cost models to ensure accurate
-
reporting, benchmarking and analysis of all project related costs

Accurate project cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting from inception to completion in line with project scope.

Responsible for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations

Responsible for supporting Project Managers with Project Number Requests (PNRs), Budget Revision Requests (BRRs) and Resource Forecasting (using UNANET software system)

Pro-actively monitoring and analysing project costs, both Fee’s and Cost of Works including, budgets, commitments, upstream / downstream cashflow, payments, variances/adjustments due to change management and overall project cost performance aspects

Identifying project cost risks, performing cost risk analysis, identifying and analysing potential project problems, providing input into value engineering and recommending corrective actions/solutions and follow-up to mitigate project cost risks

Preparation of internal project cost/financial reports for the Director of Projects and relevant Project Manager(s) for each assigned project

Preparation of project cost/financial reports for issue, via the assigned IPS Project Manager, to the Client as appropriate

Contribute to the continuous development of project cost benchmarking data and reporting processes to provide accurate, timely and clear cost data to the business and project teams

Establishing professional and appropriate relationships with our Clients, Colleagues, Consultants and other Contractors/Suppliers/Third parties involved in the projects

Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other business/project team members to ensure efficient project cost/financial control

Continuous Improvement and learning, providing data and feedback on project cost aspects for future project estimating and contributing to updating of business best practices

Assist in identifying, and developing innovative methods for improving project cost management processes and techniques against current SOPs, Wis and templates

Recommends improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management
-
Remains at the forefront of new and emerging industry practices and the potential application on client engagements

Holds regular status meetings with the project team / discipline leads

Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

Undertaking other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ideal candidates will possess 10+ years of project experience managing project controls
-
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or relevant subject

Ideally hold or working toward an appropriate professional body membership
-
Preferably have a Project Management accreditation from PMI, APM or Prince2.

Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within an EPCMV consultancy environment.

Experience and Good working knowledge of Financial and Cost systems, with a good understanding of complex project cost data, ability to analyse and derive meaningful metrics and management reports

High Level of Mathematical ability with experience in large data sets and Microsoft Systems

Must have the ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects

Working knowledge of MS Project / Primavera (P6), working closely with the Project Planning / Scheduling team to ensure integration and alignment of project Costs and Schedules

Able to build good relationships with business and project team members

ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Power BI and similar platforms.
