This is a founding engineer position at an early-stage, Berlin-based startup building an AI-native automation platform for private market operations — think fund accounting, reconciliation, treasury, and reporting workflows. The platform uses autonomous AI agents to connect to inboxes, web portals, and financial data sources, extract key data points, reconcile accounts, and generate journal entries for existing ERPs — turning days of manual work into minutes.
You'll work directly alongside the founding team and early customers, with maximum ownership and a clear path to a leadership role as the company scales. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Build and own core platform components, including backend services, production-grade APIs, and AI agent infrastructure
Design and implement LLM-powered and agentic workflows that automate complex private market operations end-to-end
Integrate with financial systems including ERPs, banking feeds, email, and file storage to create a unified data layer
Work directly with customers (design partners) to understand their workflows and translate requirements into product features
Actively contribute to the product roadmap alongside the founding team
Help shape engineering culture, tooling, and hiring as the team grows
Required:
1–3 years of professional software engineering experience
Hands-on experience building or operating AI-native infrastructure, including large language models (LLMs) and agentic/autonomous systems in production
Domain knowledge in financial operations — particularly fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury workflows
Strong backend development skills; comfortable building and maintaining production-grade APIs and services
High ownership mindset — able to operate with autonomy and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with ambiguity
Based in Berlin or willing to relocate; eligible to work in Germany (visa sponsorship available)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a small, tight-knit founding team
Nice to Have:
Prior experience at an AI infrastructure, fintech, or private markets technology company
Familiarity with private market structures (e.g. fund accounting, transfer agency, NAV reporting)
Experience integrating with ERP or financial data systems
Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience
Equity participation as a founding team member
Visa sponsorship available
High-impact, high-ownership role with a direct path to engineering leadership
This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate. Visa sponsorship is available for candidates eligible to work in Germany.
