What to Expect
Tesla’s Battery and High-voltage test team is looking for skilled and motivated HV Test Technicians. The team’s mission is to validate reliability and durability of batteries, modules, and battery electronics and HV wiring against requirements and standards. The team thus contributes to design and product validation. As a successful candidate, you will follow the reliability lifecycle from concept to design, development, manufacturing, and field operation. What You'll Do-
Perform battery, module and electronics tests independently using specialized equipment, fixtures, environmental test chambers and data loggers and according to SOPs and internal standards.
- Perform test preparation activities (e.g. instrumentation, charging).
- Perform destructive teardowns for root-cause analysis. Documenting findings and report outcomes.
- Maintain high test throughput/efficiency and data quality.
- Perform commissioning of machines and systems including functional testing and identification and documentation of deviations/errors in electrical plans.
- Own organizational tasks & responsibilities like creation & maintenance of procedures, SOPs, standards, equipment, inspections, lab commissioning, facilities, maintenance and staff trainings.

Tasks require work with high-voltage (live batteries) and other hazardous energy using mandated PPE and procedures in person and in a lab environment.
- Other tasks as required.

Completed German vocational training (Berufsausbildung) or recognized equivalent education in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrician, Industrial Mechanik, Vehicle Mechanics, Automation or Maintenance or comparable technical and craftsmanship education.
- Vehicle mechanics (KfZ Mechaniker) with Hands-on battery service experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong computer and good programming skills and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment with new technologies, equipment and processes.
- Basic familiarity with German Standards for Electronics and Electricity.
Additional Preferred Skills

Experience with test equipment for battery testing (cyclers, environmental chambers, DAQs) and/or HV testing (HIPOT, Isolation testers, Multimeters) or comparable experience with electrical test equipment.
- Hands-on experience with automotive or industrial batteries or battery vehicles or comparable experience in aviation, or power electronics.
- Assumption of responsibilities under dangerous goods law/ordinance; particularly but not limited to packaging and vehicle loading.
- Willingness to develop skills and take responsibility as Elektrofachkraft.
