The Location Manager holds overall responsibility for the daily operation, quality, and commercial performance of a single Basker International childcare location. The role combines pedagogical leadership, staff management, parent relations, and administrative oversight, ensuring the facility meets regulatory requirements, internal standards, and the expectations of the families we serve.
Operational leadership Lead the day-to-day operation of the location, including opening hours, staffing coverage, ratios, and compliance with all applicable childcare regulations and licensing requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming physical environment.
Pedagogical quality Ensure the pedagogical concept is implemented consistently across all groups. Support staff in planning developmentally appropriate activities, observing children's progress, and documenting learning outcomes in line with Basker International's curriculum framework.
People management Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain pedagogical and support staff. Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and team meetings. Manage schedules, absence cover, and leave planning to maintain legally required child-to-staff ratios at all times.
Parent and community relations Act as the primary point of contact for parents. Handle enrollment conversations, daily communication, concerns, and formal complaints professionally. Build strong relationships with local authorities, partner institutions, and the surrounding community.
Financial and administrative oversight Manage the location's budget including occupancy, personnel costs, and operating expenses. Monitor enrollment numbers, maintain accurate records, oversee invoicing and parent payments, and deliver monthly reporting to regional leadership.
Compliance and safeguarding Ensure full compliance with child protection policies, health and safety regulations, data protection (GDPR), and all local childcare legislation. Serve as the designated safeguarding lead for the location.
Continuous improvement Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and family satisfaction. Implement group-wide initiatives and contribute feedback to central teams on systems, processes, and pedagogical development.

Recognized qualification in early childhood education, pedagogy, social work, or a related field (or equivalent management qualification with relevant sector experience)

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a childcare or early years setting, including at least 2 years in a leadership or deputy leadership role

Proven people management experience, including recruitment, development, and performance management

Strong working knowledge of applicable childcare regulations, safeguarding standards, and quality frameworks

Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational reporting

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust with parents, staff, and authorities

Confident user of digital tools for administration, scheduling, and parent communication

Fluent in the local language; additional languages are an advantage
