About the Position
We are seeking an experienced freelance Enterprise AI Security Architect for a leading company with a heterogeneous IT and application landscape.
The company is in a phase of increasing AI adoption. Several departments are evaluating and implementing various AI technologies, from generative AI applications and AI copilots to agent-based solutions. To ensure the secure, scalable, and sustainable use of these technologies, an enterprise-wide security architecture for AI is to be established.
We are looking for an experienced architect with a solid understanding of modern AI technologies, enterprise architectures, and information security. The focus will be on defining technical guidelines, security requirements, and architectural standards for the secure use of AI within the company.
Your Responsibilities
Developing an enterprise-wide AI security architecture
Defining architectural principles and security standards for AI solutions
Creating reference architectures for GenAI, LLMs, RAG, and AI agents
Conducting architecture and security reviews for AI initiatives
Identifying and assessing AI-specific risks
Defining technical guardrails for the use of internal and external AI services
Advising architecture, platform, and product teams
Collaborating with enterprise architecture, information security, data protection, and business units
We are looking for you
Several years of experience as an enterprise architect, security architect, or principal architect
Demonstrable experience in complex enterprise environments
Practical experience with generative AI, LLMs, and modern AI platforms
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)
In-depth knowledge of:
Security Architecture, IAM, Cloud Security, Data Protection, Zero Trust, Threat Modeling
Experience in developing target architectures, standards, and technical governance models
Ability to connect technical and strategic requirements at the enterprise level
Fluent in English (German is a plus)
Desired qualifications
Experience with AI governance and AI risk management
Knowledge of the EU AI Act
Experience with ISO 27001, ISO 42001, or NIST AI RMF
Experience with MLOps, LLMops, or AI platform architectures
Experience with open-source LLMs and self-hosted AI solutions
Relevant architecture or security certifications
