What You'll Do
Equipment Ownership & Reliability
- Serve as the subject matter expert for dry powder mixing, conditioning, and conveyance equipment

Define and track equipment KPIs (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and drive measurable improvements

Identify critical spare parts and ensure sufficient inventory coverage to prevent extended downtime

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies

Troubleshooting & Hands-On Support
Provide direct, hands-on support to the maintenance team during downtime events
- Lead structured root-cause analysis for equipment failures and recurring issues

Ensure safe handling practices for powder materials, including dust containment and clean/dry room protocols
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Prioritize and lead equipment improvement projects from scoping through commissioning

Customize equipment specifications and requirements based on evolving product and process constraints

Support on-site construction, installation, FAT/SAT, and commissioning of new equipment

Design mechanical equipment, tooling, and fixtures using 3D CAD; create and validate layouts, tooling drawings, and pneumatic/electrical schematics in 2D CAD
Collaboration & Leadership
- Coordinate cross-functionally with process engineering, maintenance, quality, controls, and EHS teams

Own vendor and OEM relationships for mixing equipment — manage upgrades, warranty issues, and technical support

Build training materials, maintenance routines, and documentation for equipment lifecycle management

Mentor junior engineers and technicians within the mixing area

Present technical findings, improvement roadmaps, and capital expenditure proposals to engineering leadership
What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field — alternatively, equivalent professional experience and evidence of exceptional ability

5+ years of experience in equipment engineering within a high-volume automated production environment

Hands-on experience with powder processing, mixing, conveying, or conditioning equipment — in industries such as battery, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, chemicals, concrete, plastics, or semiconductor

Proficiency in 3D CAD for mechanical equipment and tooling design

Experience with 2D CAD for layouts, tooling drawings, and pneumatic/electrical schematics
-
Demonstrated ability to lead improvement projects and introduce new equipment into production
-
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a hands-on mentality

Professional proficiency in English (required)
Preferred
- Experience specifically with dry electrode mixing or battery powder materials

Background in clean room or dry room manufacturing environments
-
Experience developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs

Knowledge of powder safety and dust explosion prevention (ATEX)

Exposure to SPC, Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing methodologies

Working knowledge of PLC/HMI systems (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff)

Experience supporting equipment procurement, FAT/SAT, or commissioning of new production lines

Proficiency in both English and German
