Your role
As a Working Student IT Operations & Infrastructure (m/f/d), you will help us operate, improve, and secure our internal IT environment. You will work closely with a small team of fewer than 10 people and support our Windows-based setup across end-user support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity topics.
You collaborate with external cybersecurity and IT experts to ensure best practices are implemented and maintained.
Your main responsibilities
- Provide first-level and selected second-level IT support for employees.
- Set up and maintain Windows-based laptops, desktops, peripherals, and on‑premises Windows servers.
- Configure and troubleshoot virtual machine access (e.g. RustDesk) and support provisioning of internal services such as GitLab and license server VMs.
- Support VPN setup and secure remote access for employees, including two‑factor or comparable additional authentication.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 support (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and the effective use of Microsoft Copilot AI agents for internal productivity and IT workflows.
- Support the deployment and implementation of new cybersecurity and firewall infrastructure, including hardening, patching, basic monitoring and operational procedures.
- Apply and promote practical IT security best practices in daily operations.
- Assist with infrastructure improvements, small automation tasks (e.g. scripting), and clear technical documentation.
Your profile
- Currently enrolled at a university in Germany in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Strong interest in IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI‑supported workflows.
- Hands-on experience in a Windows-only environment and practical familiarity with Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with VPN setup and remote-access tools with two‑factor or comparable additional authentication.
- Experience with firewalls, DHCP, VLANs, virtual machines.
- Practical experience working with AI agents in Perplexity and Microsoft environments. Interest in ALM systems and local AI services.
- Basic scripting or automation skills, ideally Python and PowerShell.
- Structured and reliable working style with confident communication towards technical and non‑technical colleagues.
- Fluent English and business-professional German skills.
- Familiarity with Git, Proxmox or comparable virtualization platforms, Polarion (Siemens), and SVN or similar version control systems is an advantage.
Working conditions
- Working student (Werkstudent) position with Emascale GmbH.
- Location: Munich office, near Laim S-Bahn station.
- Regular on-site presence required; hybrid work possible by agreement.
- Up to 20 hours per week during lecture periods.
- Initial contract term of 6 months.
- Start date by 15 July.
- Valid university enrollment required for the full contract period.
